CLLT: Corpus Linguistics and Language Teaching (4/17/00)
Listowners: Michael Barlow and Stephanie Burdine (Rice University)
Email address: clltadmn@rice.edu
Given the success over several years of the Teaching and Language Corpora
(TALC) conferences in Europe and now, additionally, the two meetings of the
North American Symposium on Corpus Linguistics and Language Teaching, there
would seem to be sufficient enthusiasm to establish a mailing list for those
interested in the use of corpora in language teaching.
The CLLT list will be unmoderated and will be open to submissions from
list-members that are related to corpus linguistics and language teaching. The
list will be managed in a hands-off manner, but we ask subscribers not to send
messages to the list that are not relevant to these two areas and to generally
be considerate of CLLT members when posting to the list (in terms of content
and tone).
Some tips:
* send messages about Corpus Linguistics and Language Teaching to
cllt@rice.edu
* send messages relating to adding/removing addresses for the list to
listserv@listserv.rice.edu
* use descriptive subject headings in postings to the list
*do not forward general pleas, general warnings, general urgent announcements
(regarding viruses, for instance) to the list.
*to temporarily stop messages from the list, send the following command to
listserv@listserv.rice.edu: set CLLT nomail
If there is a paragraph in the automatically generated message from the
Listserv which states that the list and the info in the list are confidential,
please ignore it. Naturally, contributions to the list should not be forwarded
or quoted without the permission of the writer.
If you have questions (or comments) concerning the posting of messages or
messages posted previously, please contact the listowners.
The list messages are archived at the linguistlist.org site.
