Dear colleagues, The Reference Corpus of Contemporary Portuguese (CRPC) is now available online to be queried on a CQPweb platform at: http://alfclul.clul.ul.pt/CQPweb/ Version 2.0 of the CRPC contains 311,4 million words of both written and spoken texts of several varieties of Portuguese in the world. A detailed description of the corpus is available at: http://www.clul.ul.pt/en/research-teams/183-reference-corpus-of-contemporary-portuguese-crpc The CQPWeb platform gives access to the written subpart of the CRPC (309,8 million words). If necessary, the user can also access the platform via registration. The registered access allows for a small set of additional options, like creating subcorpora. Registration is free and only requires the user to fill out a form. Upon entering the platform, the user can choose between the whole CRPC corpus or only the European Portuguese subcorpus (“CRPC: Portugal only”). A user manual is available from the left menu (“User manual: CRPC”) and it describes all the available options: - concordances and sorting; - frequencies and distribution; - queries restricted by Portuguese varieties and text type; - PoS tags and lemmas; - collocations; - creation of subcorpora; - lexical comparison of subcorpora; - online classification of concordances according to labels defined by the user; - download of results. A summary of the query options is available from a link on the main query page (“Simple query language syntax”). In future versions, we plan to enhance the internal constitution of the CRPC, to enlarge the number of annotations and metadata as well as including the spoken subcorpus. We hope that this new access to the CRPC will be useful for your research. If you have any doubts or suggestions that could allow us to improve this service, please contact us at crpc@clul.ul.pt.
